In the spring of 1863, the division was disconnected for administration in the Suffolk Campaign and missed the Battle of Chancellorsville. While in Suffolk, Pickett met and experienced passionate feelings for LaSalle Sallie Corbell. The two would be marry on November 13 and later had two kids. Picketts Charge During the Battle of Gettysburg, Pickett was at first entrusted with guarding the armys lines of correspondence through Chambersburg, PA.
